Consulting Services

Generational Support Consulting Services creates a personal guide by providing detailed recommendations, referrals, and an action plan for aging adults and their caregivers.

This service gives older adults, and their family members, guidance on actions to take for successful aging.

Who is Involved in the consultation?

  • An older adult (or couple) and their adult child/children, or Power of Attorney for those that do not have family.
  • Sometimes I work just with the older adult(s) themselves.
  • On occasion, I help just the adult child/children build a support plan, so they can assist their aging parents on their own.
  • I also work with Financial Advisors.

How does the consultation work?

  • The consultant will meet you in your own home or any other location of choice, phone call, or Zoom.
  • Family members can join the discussion in person or remotely if they live far away.
  • We discuss and assess the current health, functional, social, housing, and financial/legal situation.
  • All have an opportunity to share their thoughts, concerns, and goals.
  • The recommendations report details exactly what the challenges are and how to address those challenges.
  • Support can be provided on a month-to-month basis, or for however long services are needed.

What are the possible action plans?

  • A clear and detailed plan for living well.
  • Specific and relevant information to guide actions and decisions.
  • The right balance of family support and external support.
  • Improved physical and mental health, and wellness for the seniors and their family members.
  • Preservation of choice, independence, dignity, and family relationships.
  • A team to support you now and in the future as life progresses and needs change.

When is the best time to begin?

Generational Support Consulting Services is happy to discuss at any stage of life. Assistance is usually sought after a medical crisis has occurred, and families recognize they are not as prepared as they should be. However, I really encourage families to plan prior to a crisis occurring.

Some reasons to begin preparing:

  • Imminent or recent retirees who want to understand options, and the costs of future care.
  • Healthy and active older adults who wish to maintain a high level of health and energy.
  • Older adults who are starting to experience some challenges and would like to get ahead of a serious event happening.
  • Older adults who have experienced a health issue, and need a care and support plan, i.e. Home Health.
  • Families who would like to know how they can best support their aging parents.
  • Family caregivers who are working and/or managing their own families and need help in supporting their older adult parents or loved ones.
